I work as a project manager, I am a parent, and I am an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in the grand plan. As with many overseas postings, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new routines, higher expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, unease, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Velqu Orin Masta
Most online resources were either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
